From Sunday to Sunday

Reading in Library

by Adam Shanks

We worship and follow a crucified sage. We build our lives on the teachings of a proclaimed criminal. We believe in a “next life” because of a man who was killed on a cross. We preach, teach, and worship a man the world has rejected. Paul says, “The word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved” (1 Cor 1.18). We are saved because of one week of human history. But how much do we know about that one week? Have we considered why the events happened the way they did and why people would go to such great lengths to kill one man? What really happened from Sunday to Sunday? A deeper look at the week Jesus was crucified will not only increase the faith of those who believe, but it will help us understand how much God wanted to save all of us.
